Although I do undertake portraits from live sittings if practicable, I usually work from photographic sources (always with pets!). These can be provided by the client (or if you’re local I can undertake photography). Photos need to be reasonably good resolution and quality. Close ups of faces are ideal. If you’re not sure if the photos you have would make a good portrait. I am happy to give advice.
Process:
- Contact me and let me know what you have in mind and what sort of size
- Send me any relevant photos you like.
- I select the photo or photos that I think would make for the best result and get your approval before continuing. If none of the photos are suitable I would offer tips on how to take a good photo of your subject.
- I will send you a photo of the finished painting for your approval. Once approved, you make payment and I send you the painting.
- For larger compositions I would ask for a small deposit (about 10%) up front to pay for materials.
Prices vary with size and composition. Smaller sizes would usually be head and shoulders with an abstract background. Larger sizes, if desired, can include a fuller view of the figure with detailed background.

- 50cm x 40cm – £700 (Half figure)
- 60cm x 45cm – £850 (Half figure large)
- 70cm x 50 cm – £1000 (Half figure plus – incl. hands)
- Larger sizes (eg. full figure) from £1000
